Dr Peter Hodgson graduated as a physicist and following spells with several environmentally-focussed organisations, he is currently Manager, Sustainability Policy & Assessment at Tata Steel UK, where he leads a team engaged in a broad range of sustainability issues in the metals industry, particularly following the principles of life cycle thinking and Life Cycle Assessment. He is leading Tata Steel’s global engagement in a number of initiatives in support of the steel sector’s transition to net / near zero GHG emissions. He is also a member of several national and international sustainability standards committees and is a Fellow of the UK’s Institute of Physics.
