Fernando C.Hernandez initiated his career as a mechanic in 2002 with Plug Power,specializing in cryogenic transportation of hydrogen, CO2, and LNG. Since then,Forbes has featured him, and he is currently the Chairman of the Board at theSociety for Low Carbon Technologies. Fernando is also a Business Ambassador(GlobalScot) to Scotland, directly appointed by Scotland’s longest-servingFirst Minister for his contributions in the energy realm. In his role as CarbonCapture Storage (CCS) Brasil’s International Chairman, he successfully advancedSouth America's first legislation for CCS, which received Brazilian senateapproval.
When it comes toenergy and low carbon, he is a published author and philanthropist, as well asan inventor and patent holder, while fast-tracking the success of emergingtechnologies. Fernando’s accomplishments with CCS, hydrogen, and sustainabletechnologies have earned him recognition as a multi-award-winning technologymentor by the UK’s Net Zero Technology Centre, which is backed by the Abu DhabiNational Oil Company, bp, and Equinor.
Notably, histrilingual fluency has facilitated the execution of projects and commercialinitiatives on multiple continents. Fernando’s prowess in international energyand technology has led him to meet with presidents and ministers of variouscountries, as covered by the press.
