David was MP for Banff & Buchan (location of Acorn CCUSProject at St Fergus) from 2017 to 2024.
Before entering politics, David worked in the Energy sectorfor 25 years, predominantly oil and gas. Starting as a production chemist, he developeda broad understanding of the whole sector through various roles around theworld.
From the late 2000s, David worked mainly in productionefficiency improvement and change management roles.
As an MP, David served twice as a UK GovernmentMinister and served as a member of the Scottish Affairs Select Committee. Healso participated in a number of APPGs, including Offshore Oil & Gas,Hydrogen and of course, as vice chair of the APPG for CCUS
